Since the return of democracy in 1999, people of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone have not had it so good till the emergence of Dr. Uche Lillian Ekwunife. An astute politician, who gave face to representation right from when she represented people of Anaocha, Njikoka, and Dunukofia Federal Constituency before climbing the ladder to be the Senator representing Anambra Central.
Senator Ekwunife through her connections and experiences as a lawmaker and most importantly as a ranking lawmaker has attracted many dividends to her constituents, thereby surpassing the achievements of her predecessors and setting a new record.
Never in the history of the zone have we had a representative who while being active on the floor of the National Assembly, also engage in the construction of rural roads, classroom blocks, houses for widows and less privileged, youth and women empowerment through trainings and provision of start-up capitals, among others.
Despite these glaring achievements which many constituents in other zones cannot boast of, the senator who has been dubbed ‘Madam Project’ has been castigated by her oppositions who query her activity on the floor of the senate as they say the job of a lawmaker is to make laws and not engage in road construction. One then begins to wonder if it is not in the interest of the zone that the senator does what she does.
For the records, below are highlighted, Bills and Motions sponsored and moved by the Senator Uche Ekwunife between June 2019 – November 2023.
