See PDP’s Reactions To Wike, Tinubu’s Meeting

Nigeria’s main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to a meeting held between the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and embittered Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in London on Monday night.

According to a source who spoke with Vanguard newspaper, the meeting allegedly bothered on how the Wike camp would cause crisis in the party while remaining in the party.

Another source from the Tinubu camp who spoke to Daily Trust newspaper said the discussions were very fruitful, and Wike may end up supporting Tinubu and the APC in the 2023 elections.

The source revealed that Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ekiti State counterpart, Kayode Fayemi, were part of the parley from the Tinubu camp while Governors Samuel Ortom (Benue) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo) attended the meeting from the Wike camp.

Reacting, PDP spokesman, Debo Ologunagba said the party was not aware of the meeting between Wike and Tinubu adding that process of resolving the feud between Wike and the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, is ongoing, and the party is making good progress.

“The reconciliation process is ongoing and we are making good progress. It is a marathon and not a sprint and we are confident that at the end of the day, everything would be fine.” The spokesman said.
