Researcher Calls On Public To Explore POCACOV Resource Centre For Their Work

ENUGU–A researcher, Hon. Casmir Chiedo Chibuike, from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja has urged the public to explore the POCACOV Resource Centre, Enugu in their work.

Chibuike eulogized the use of public relations by the Nigeria Police Force in the ongoing Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, (POCACOV) Strategies.

Chibuike, who was at the centre recently to seek materials for his ongoing research work, described POCACOV as an insightful way by the Nigeria Police Force to prevent crime and commended the Nigeria Police Force on POCACOV initiative.

He declared that he was happy with the responses he got and maintained that it would help him in the conclusion of his research work which would also impact on the society.

“I have understood POCACOV as an NPF Community Policing Initiative and Public Relations tool working with diferent stakeholders and galvanizing their support and partnership as well as enhancing participation towards problem solving.

“I have also understood POCACOV to be involved in Mobilization,Partnership ,Participation and Problem Solving (MPPPS) and also involved in Advocacy, Awareness Creation and Sensitization, Mentoring and Reorientation.

“I also Commend Nigeria Police Force on establishment of POCACOV Resource Centre, which I can say is at its best to supply Research Materials and Information to Researchers and to perform the Evidence based policing activity function.

“I encourage other researchers on community policing and Public Relations to equally explore this place,” he added.

Responding,the National Coordinator Police Campaign Against Cultism and other Vices (POCACOV), CSP Ebere Amaraizu, thanked the Researcher for finding the Resource Center worthy to be explored and reminded him of POCACOV Community/Rural Sports activity which is to boost POCACOV activity on Responsive Parenting through sports parenting for their children to thrive and pointing out that it is targeted at Children and Youths from Nigerian communities in order to cut the supply chains and conveyor belts of young minds involvement in crime and criminality, especially cultism.

He explained further that the programme would not only serve as a free parent support programme but would be used to build resilience amongst them and expose them to platforms of self discovery, using the instrumentality of sports for a greater Society.

Highlight of the visit was handing over of some campaign materials to the researcher to further aid him in his activities.
