NEW EXECUTIVE EMERGES IN NAWOJ ENUGU STATE.

The National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ)  Enugu State Chapter now has a new Executive to pilot the affairs for three years.

Comrade NGOZI NGENE of the state Ministry of Information emerged the chairperson after her opponent, Mrs Chinyere Agbo stepped down in the interest of the association.
Comrade AMAKA UCHENNADIUKWU of FRCN Enugu Zonal station emerged Vice Chairperson.
The positions of Secretary and Assistant Secretary went to comrade OGOCHUKWU CHUKWUDIKE of the state Ministry of Information and MARYANN MORRE of the FRCN Enugu.
Others are Comrade LUCY OKECHI of the National Orientation Agency Treasurer and Comrade SYLVIA UDEGBUNAM of the correspondent Chapel Financial Secretary.

Inaugurating the new executive, the chairman Nigeria Union of Journalist, NUJ, Enugu state Chapter, comrade SAM UDEKWE represented by the Vice Chairman, comrade REGIS ANUKWUOJI charged members of the executive to swallow pride in order to think out welfare plans that would affect the lives of every member and commended the peaceful conduct of the election.

The chairman credentials committee, comrade AMAKA ODOH advised the new executive to have open ears and as well show equal love to all as to embrace the spirit of sportsmaship.

In a remark, the NUJ state chairman Emeritus, comrade REX ARUM while stating that good leadership is as a result of good followership encouraged them to manage the affairs of the union from a conflict resolution perspective.

Also in a speech, the BOT NAWOJ Zone C (South East) comrade NGOZI MBAH requested NAWOJians to see the new Executive as leaders that are capable to turn around the association for good.

Other members of NAWOJ who spoke at the event including the Director National Orientation Agency Enugu state, Mrs Ifeyinwa Ugwu wants every member to support the new arm of leadership.

Another NAWOJian and Deputy Director News, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, Mrs IFEYINWA NWOSU recalled the unasuming peaceful co existence she met in NAWOJ Enugu years back, which made the union activities attractive to members.

Mrs Nwosu therefore charged the new executive to always consult stakeholders who are willing to volunteer their wealth of knowledge and experience towards the growth of NAWOJ Enugu state.

” let us not be divided because when I came on transfer to Enugu, NAWOJ was attractive and members were eager to attend meetings, after all this journey is for both the executive and members as we give God the glory for a smooth programme concluded”.

In the same vein, Mrs Onyeka Udegbulam challenged them to re unite all NAWOJians in the state.

In an inaugural speech, the new Chairperon, comrade NGOZI NGENE on behalf of other members of the executive promised to harnes all God Given Talents in every member of the Association adding that the executive stands to be corrected.

” I am overwhelmed by the massive encouragement and support you extended to me during my campaign.
I would like to thank also members of the credentials committee who worked tiredlesly to achieve this new height.
My immense thanks goes to the BOT NAWOJ Zone C (South East) comrade Ngozi Mbah and my humble oponent in the contest, Mrs Chinyere Agbo.

I will never cease to appreciate God Almighty who by His infinite mercy allowed this victory which is ours.

I have on this very day opened the door to carry everybody along so that we can fly together. ”

High point of the event was the oath of office taken by the new executive.
