Nigerian Athlete Eucharia Iyiazi from Nri in Anaocha Local Government of Anambra state, representing team Nigeria in the Commonwealth games in Birmingham, United Kingdom wins gold medal.

The athlete is trending online as fans keeps pouring their good wishes to her and this has also attracted her state Government appreciating her for making their state proud, she won the gold medal in the women’s F56/57 shot put, she made it with a throw of 10.03 meters.

Recalled that the athlete has been representing the state and country for a long time and she keeps having good records on all with little recognition from both state or federal government.

The 49year old athlete represented the country in 2004 Athens paralympics (Javelin throw) where she won silver medal, won Gold 2007 Beijing paralympics (Shot put), Bronze in each of the London 2012 paralympics (Shot put), 2016 (Discus) and Tokyo 2020 paralympics (shot put) respectively.

At the end she gets little or no financial back up from neither her country or state government for the job well done in keeping the flag flying in those competitions, she gets just recognition just like we see now online and then everyone forgets about her.

Being a strong woman and hard working too she seems not bothered as she keeps doing all these for the love and passion she has for the game.

Congratulations to her as we hope this edition don’t be like other ones where she don’t get any recognition at the end.
